On Sunday 3 Otober 2010 a group of squash enthusiasts met at the Wanderers to attand coaching courses. Glenn Lazarus had organised a Coach the coaches session taken by Chris Holden, and a Level 1 coaching course handled by experienced coach Graham Prior.

Graham gave the participants useful hints and tips like how to analyse a pupils swing to diagnose faults in their swing, and then on how to work with them to correct them. He also took the time to point out our personal shortcomings (in the nicest possible way) and I now know that I have to stay away from the ball in order to generate power and control on my backswing and then I will get my good-to-crappy shot ratio up from the present 30%. He kept us awake with court sprints and encouraged us throughout the day to go out and coach. At the end he gave us the exciting news that we have all attained level 1 coaching status and advised us how to achieve level 2 status.

I would like to thank the organisers, the coaches and the fellow participants for a wonderful day of squash.

Enjoy the photos and give me a call if you lose a squash match because I think I know what you are doing wrong.
