On September 23-26, 2021, the University of Pretoria hosted the 2021 USSA Squash Top 16 Tournament.

The application for participation included 6 women and 20 men representing 6 universities. In 2021, the USSA squash committee decided to split the competition due to the fact that the team championships, which take place in December, limit the participants in time and do not allow enough time to complete this part of the event.

The number two competitor, Kundanji Kalengo, who is studying electrical engineering at the Tshwane University of Technology, beat the number one competitor, Tristan Worth, 3-1 in the final. Tristan is a former SAU 19 champion and only lost one game leading to the final. Nevertheless, Kundanji, playing in the Zambian national team, won a well-deserved victory with a score of 3:1.

Among women, the champion was Helena Coetzi, a student of the University of Pretoria, who remains unbeaten in 5 games.
